At Deluxe Soho, we offer a complete photochemical and digital restoration service including preservation for colour and black and white, 35mm and 16mm film.
Our highly experienced team provide a variety of digital restoration techniques in HD, 2K or 4K and for preservation, digital film recorded YCM separation masters from data/DI files or photochemical separation masters from original camera negative.
We lead the industry in the handling and restoration of Nitrate film. When restoring film images of historical importance, we set the benchmark in digital stills imaging with digital capture, scanning, restoration, and metadata management.
Film Handling and Inspection
With a wealth of experience working with film, we know how to handle it. We take the utmost care and attention with all source material and also provide inspection and quality control of 35mm and 16mm, negative and positive for restoration.
Scan
The ArriScan is a pin registered film scanner that scans 35mm and 16mm film (super and standard for both) up to 6K resolution. Our Arri Scanners are capable of scannig 2, 3 and 4perf 35mm, as well as 16mm..
Deluxe Soho also operates a Spirit HD/2K/4K Datacine, which is widely recognised as one of the leading film to data/video transfer machines in the world.
Grading
Our purpose built grading theatre comprises of Nucoda Film Master and Assimilate Scratch grading systems. Viewing can be switched from a large LCD TV to our five metre wide cinema screen via the Barco DP100 2K digital projector.
Our highly talented and experienced Colourists ensure the very best results are achieved from each and every frame of film.
Digital Restoration
An extensive range of tools and software provides us with powerful and flexible solutions to repair and restore digitally scanned images and we work continuously with manufacturers to develop and test new software and techniques. All forms of common film problems such as dirt, dust, warps, scratches, tears, flicker or even missing frames can be fixed in a non-destructive workflow to produce cleaned master data without affecting the original material.
Film Record
Deluxe incorporates the largest capacity film record department in Europe. With multiple ArriLasers and dedicated staff, this ensures a full six reel feature can be filmed out within 24 hours for overnight processing, ensuring a rush print delivery the next morning.
Our Record department is in constant contact with the Deluxe Denham laboratory to ensure control is kept within the highest of tolerance. Our daily negative and print tracking scheme ensures that we are consistent to Efilm and Arri Standards at all times.
